My husband Jason and I have had a very "interesting" year to say the least. For the past year it seems like our world was going upside down. I am a person who tries to "fix" things. I like to make things happen. I feel like if I am going to do something, I need to be committed to it (although I wasn't always like that) I remember having an "intense" prayer and just asking God, " what do I need to do, how can I fix this!?" His reply, "Be still." That was NOT the answer I was looking for! Be still?!? How could I be still when my world was in chaos? The verses that came to me was Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. I am not implying that you be still and not pay your bills, or quit your job. No No No! For me it meant stop trying to fix things on my own and trust God. It means, Trust in the LORD with ALL thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding (Prov 3:5). God reveals his purpose and plan in due time.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven... A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace."
My time was to be still and build up for the thing ahead in life. Is God telling you to be still? What is your time?
