Hiding His Word in my Heart

As I was driving with the boys, I was listening to 105.7 here in Houston. I always seem to catch the end of his show...I do not even know the name of the show, but the host's topic was remembering scripture. He went on to say that if you just remember or meditate on a verse of scripture a week, you will have learned 52 verses of scripture. It is important not only remember the scripture, but to meditate; to consider as something to be done or effected; intend; purpose. What does the Bible say about meditating?

Joshua 1:8 "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."

The Bible says that if you meditate God's word that you will be prosperous and have good success. Not only successful financially, but to be successful in other areas of life. I decided to commit to meditating on one scripture a week. In order for me to do that, I had to evaluate myself and see what I needed the most work on. I was led to Psalms 34:1 "I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth." If I am always praising God, I won't be complaining. Whenever I want to complain, I will think of this scripture and give God praise. Every Monday will be Meditation Monday where I will recap the previous week and I will post a new scripture for the following week.
